UPDATE: Here’s an update on the titanium tweeter diaphragms, along with a bit of information about what has been going on with these.
In August of 2024 we had 500 of the CD76TiM diaphragms left on the shelf so we ordered another 500 of them (that had been our normal reorder point and quantity). The diaphragms always had very long lead times so we waited patiently for them to arrive. By the end of December of 2024, they had not come in so I reached out to my supplier who wrote back “oh, I am sorry to say that those have been discontinued and are no longer being produced by the factory so I will refund your payment”. I was floored and quite annoyed that it had taken them several months to let me know this that I could have been working on a solution. Unfortunately, by the time this happened we had almost completely sold out of the CD76TiM diaphragms so I began a scramble to get a new manufacturer to make them for me.
At this point, I reached out to the manufacturer of our CD53pK diaphragms and they agreed to try to make these for me so I sent them samples on January 14, 2025 and waited for them to make samples for me. I finally received the samples of March 16, 2025 and began testing. To my dismay, the three sample diaphragms they sent me did not match the one I sent them in performance, and amazingly did not even match each other in performance. This was clearly unacceptable and I decided I could not proceed as things were. In consultation with the engineering department, we decided to send them a pair of tweeters so that they could again make samples and test them for themselves in a tweeter. I sent the tweeters off on April 28, 2025 and waited for new samples. Those samples finally came in on August 13, 2025 and thankfully they tested identically to the CD76TiM and with perfect consistency between the samples. At that point, I gave the go-ahead to begin production of my minimum order quantity of 3000 diaphragms and those should be shipping to me in 60 days.
This is a SINGLE diaphragm that will work in the following (and more):

replacing a tweeter and the crossover on one older KG 4.2 unit resulted in a much clearer sound.
do the maintenance it is worth it for 20+ year old units.
This in my opinion a good upgrade for the kg2 speaker. Side by side the new titanium tweeter produced more high with clarity.
This tweeter made my Chorus speaker more dynamic and alive!!! Michael Crites was very helpful and knowledgeable!!!
