This is a new KG4 crossover to replace the original. It is built with the same circuit design as the original, but uses higher quality parts.
Our crossover networks are all offered now in three versions which you can select from the pop-up menu:
Copper Edition with Mylar/Polyester capacitors and excellent quality inductors sourced from Erse.
Silver Edition which uses high quality Erse Polypropylene capacitors and a higher grade primary inductor in the woofer circuit.
Gold Edition uses the highest quality Sonicaps that we source along with the highest quality inductors in all positions in the circuit.
Each of these network levels will provide excellent improvement over the original stock crossovers with each level gaining further improvement and refinement in technical quality and sound quality of the network.
The picture shows a typical pair of these crossovers. The pair you get may not look exactly the same as this picture since each is hand wired and each block is different.
Also, some parts may be substituted. All parts used will be of equal or better quality than the example shown in the picture. Each will be individually tested to ensure performance. Shipping will be FREE inside the US including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. We will ship worldwide. See shipping calculator for rates to other countries.

I replaced the OEM crossovers in my 1980's Kg4's with a pair of Crites and I'm very impressed with the results. The speakers have not sounded this good in many years. The change out was very simple. Well worth the money.
The new crossovers are great! First, they are substantially more elegant and robust than the original crossovers that Klipsch crowded on to the back of the speaker terminal cup. I'm sure Klipsch was trying to keep costs down but the Crites crossovers embarrass the originals.
More importantly, they improved the sound significantly. I bought these 1989 KG4s at an estate sale 3 months ago. They sounded good but, after 36 years, the original crossovers had degraded. The most notable improvement with the new crossovers is in the highs, which had gotten dull. Also, the overall clarity is much improved, the soundstage is wider and better defined, and the center image is more focused. Not only do crossovers normally degrade over time but, I assume, each speaker's crossover doesn't degrade at the same rate, which reduces definition and focus.
I'm pleased enough with the sound that I decided to invest more money in the speakers. I bought a pair of passive radiators off Ebay to replace the damaged ones on these speakers (they look like they lost a fight with a cat). The originals still worked and the passives are not normally seen since they face the wall but I wanted to return these as close to original as possible. The exterior walnut finish is in great condition, with no visible damage at all. But I plan to use some Watco Rejuvenating Oil on them to bring out the original shine. After that, the next owner of these speakers will likely be buying them in another estate sale.
Excellent and very easy to install
These crossovers are definitely an upgrade. My speakers were made in 89, and everything was working fine. A day after I made the change, I literally said wow thse sound great! I plan on doing more business with crites. Probably going to buy a pair of speakers : )
Woke up 39 year old speakers. It's worth every penny I spent.
